The Defense Attorney Always Rings Twice When Offering To Do "Pro Bono" Work For Sexual Favors

Attorney accused of trading drugs for sex with inmates

When it comes to defense attorneys I have come to accept that they are products of the shady people they interact with and the system that must make sense about dysfunctional people.

Some of the excuses used by some defense attorneys to explain the innocence of their client makes me wonder if they are on drugs because the excuse stretches credulity.

A man with the power to spring a criminal defendant out of jail can have this power go to his head as he subsequently seeks to translate the jubilation of his female clients into sexual favors.  If he hands out hallucinogenic drugs that allow them to get past the fact that he looks nothing like Mathew McConaughey - he might actually get a few of them to go along with the scheme.

A tip from an inmate led to the arrest of a Sandy Springs attorney accused of offering inmates prohibited items in exchange for sexual favors.
Michael Stuart Winner, 45, was booked into Cobb County Jail on eight felony charges involving two female inmates, according to his arrest warrant obtained by Channel 2 Action News.
Winner met with the inmates in private attorney-client rooms at the Cobb County Jail on numerous occasions, the warrant states.
On one occasion, Winner exposed himself to a female inmate, and another time, he asked to see a woman's breasts, according to the sheriff's office, which secured the warrant.
In exchange, Winner offered to bring the inmates drugs or tobacco, items prohibited in jail, according to deputies. An inmate's complaint about Winner led to an investigation into his actions.
Winner was arrested Thursday evening at his home and booked into the jail, where he remained Friday night on $10,000 bond, jail records show.
