Wesley Snipes New Role - Prisoner #4857573

Judge sentences Snipes to 3 years for tax convictions

But U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said Snipes exhibited a "history of contempt over a period of time" for U.S. tax laws, and granted prosecutors the three year sentence they requested — one year for each of Snipes' convictions of willfully failing to file a tax return.

"In my mind these are serious crimes, albeit misdemeanors," Hodges said.

Snipes apologized while reading from a written statement for his "costly mistakes," but never mentioned the word taxes.

"I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance," Snipes said.

Snipes said his wealth and celebrity attracted "wolves and jackals like flies are attracted to meat." He called himself "well-intentioned, but miseducated."

Snipes was the highest-profile criminal tax target in years, and prosecutors called for a heavy sentence to deter others from trying to obstruct the IRS. The government alleged Snipes made at least $13.8 million for the years in question and owed $2.7 million in back taxes.

Damn - I wish I made that much money so that I would have to even DECIDE if I was going to pay these taxes or not.

The Virgin Mary Was A Rape Victim? Good Thing He Did's Defame Muhammed

News Article: 'Basic Instinct' Director Paul Verhoeven: Jesus Was Son of Mary and Roman Rapist

In his upcoming biography of Jesus, "Basic Instinct" director Paul Verhoeven will make the shocking claim that Christ probably was the son of Mary and a Roman soldier who raped her during the Jewish uprising in Galilee.

An Amsterdam publishing house said Wednesday it will publish the Dutch filmmaker's biography of Jesus, "Jesus of Nazareth: A Realistic Portrait," in September.

It will be translated into English in 2009, Marianna Sterk of the publishing house J.M. Meulenhoff said. Verhoeven hopes it will be a springboard for him to raise interest in making a film along the same lines, she said.

Those Capitalistic Entertainers Sure Are Cleaning Up

Report: Miley Cyrus Earns $18.2M in '07; Oprah Makes $260M

This story is from Fox News - so you have to take it with a grain of salt.
(Editor's note - I am confused. I see the lefty's calling it

Fake News, Faux News, Fall News, Fraud News - you all need to decide on ONE standard so that I can abide by your editorial request)

Teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus earned a whopping $18.2 million in 2007, but she has a ways to go to catch daytime talk queen Oprah Winfrey, who raked in a cool $260 million, according to the upcoming annual 'What People Earn' issue of Parade magazine.

The salary survey compared the earnings of 18 celebrities and 112 "regular" people who participated.

According to the survey, Dr. Phil McGraw earned $90 million; "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest earned $12 million; and "Today" show host Meredith Vieira earned $10 million, as did comedian Jeff Foxworthy.

Other celebs who cashed in last year include Katherine Heigl ($11 million), Jessica Alba, ($9 million), Steven Spielberg ($110 million), Mary-Kate Olsen ($17 million), Gisele Bundchen ($33 million), Scarlett Johansson ($5 million), New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning ($11.5 million), rapper 50 Cent ($33 million) and Carrie Underwood ($7 million).

The highest-paid person on the list is 52-year-old hedge fund manager John Paulson, who earned an incredible $3.5 billion last year. The lowest-salaried person in the survey is 26-year-old Peace Corp volunteer Edward Perry, who made $2,900.

A Liberal Version of Don Imus - Will Anything Come Of It?

Article: Air America Host Suspended for Obscenity-Laced Rant Against Clinton, Ferraro

Once again - I judge Barack Obama by his "Verizon Wireless" following of leftists AND the words that he has to say.

Where as Don Imus (who is not a conservative by the way) was fired for using the word "Nappy headed Hoes" against a predominately Black female basketball team - I wonder if the same drum beat will be had against Air America host Randy Rhodes for calling two woman "whores"?
