Man The Freedoms From The Cuban Revolution Are Really Raining Down Now - Cellphones

Article: Cubans Are Now Allowed To Own Personal Cellphones

HAVANA -- Cuba said Friday that it would allow all Cubans to buy and use cellphones, the latest step by new President Raul Castro to improve access to consumer goods.

Cuba has the lowest rate of cellphone use in Latin America. The service had been restricted to foreigners and government officials and employees.

Cuban telecommunications monopoly ETECSA, a joint venture with Telecom Italia, said it would begin selling the service within days to people who have the hard currency.

Many Cubans have long sought access to cellphones and hoped it would be among the first steps taken by Castro, who succeeded his ailing brother, Fidel, on Feb. 24 as Cuba's first new leader in almost half a century.

Some Cubans already have cellphones, registered in the names of foreigners or their workplaces. They will now be able to put the contracts in their own names, ETECSA said.

Cubans will be able to buy computers and DVD players next month for the first time, if they have the hard currency. Just two years ago, customs officials confiscated DVD players on arrival in the country.

Man cellphones, computers, DVDs and FREE HEALTH CARE?
I sure how that the some in the Anti-America American left will choose to move there now!!

Rev Jeremaih Wright Builds $1.6 Million House On "Stolen Indian Land"

Obama’s Former Pastor Getting $1.6M Home in Retirement

Faux News Report On Pastor's Mansion

Now keep in mind, Black folks, this is "Faux News" reporting this so the man MAY actually have a $400,000 house being built in Gary, IN instead. You know how wrong Fox News can be about the truth. :-/

I called into a local radio show to talk with a White liberal preacher who was defending Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his words. Basically this paternalistic White preacher made the case that "White Americans need to understand the pain and the anger of Black Americans due to slavery and discrimination." When the anger of Blacks is heard, Whites should not go on the offensive but understand the consequences of their discrimination.

In my call i asked this White liberal pastor IF he had a message to Jeremiah Wright, a man who condemns the SYSTEM for what it does but who is BENEFITING AND CO-CONSPIRING with this same system - as his $1.6 million mansion would tend to indicate.

The response of this liberal pastor was to have "everyone check their own selves and make sure that they are inline with their own values".

Osama Bin Laden and Europe

It seems that the anti-war bigots in Europe had better not sleep so well in their assumed ideological superiority after all. The one called Osama Bin Laden has just damned them for publishing the pictures of the prophet Muhammad. According to Bin Laden:

''Your publications of these drawings - part of a new crusade in which the Pope of the Vatican had a significant role - is a confirmation from you that the war continues,'' said the Saudi-born militant leader in a message addressed to ''those who are wise at the European Union''.

''You are testing Muslims ... the answer will be what you shall see and not what you hear. May our mothers lose us to death if we did not rise in defence of the messenger of God ...''

The message, produced by al-Qaeda media arm as-Sahab, coincides with the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq, but bin Laden did not make any mention of the anniversary.

It appeared on a militant website that has carried al-Qaeda statements in the past and bore the logo of as-Sahab, and showed a still image of bin Laden aiming an AK-47, the Associated Press reported.

Bin Laden said the publication of the cartoons was a graver offence than the ''bombing of modest villages that collapsed over our women children''.

''This is the bigger catastrophe and the more dangerous one and for which the punishment is graver.''

While Americans risk their lives in the theater of war, Europe is creating more recruits among Al Queda with their cartoon antics. I sure feel confident with them as allies and willing soldiers. :-/

Our Tax System

Our Tax System Explained: Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten

comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would

go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the

arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your

daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the

first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they

divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted

that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would

each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that

it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and

he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 inste ad of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued

to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to

compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to

the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar,

too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I got'

'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when

I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get

anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks so the nine sat

down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill,

they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between

all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how

our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most

benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being

wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start

drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Are You Better Off Than You Were X Years Ago?

Poll: "Are You Better Off Than You Were X Years Ago"?
This is a favorite political question asked of the voter.

MSNBC Poll: We’re worse off than 4 years ago, voters say

For me this is a shallow question that could also indicate much about the person's mistaken views on what he expects from the government as much as it might indicate the government's competence in the matter.

For me personally - the answer is an astounding "YES". I make more money than I did for or 8 years ago. I have more solid job skills to remain gainfully employed. My family has grown and is healthy. I could stand to lose some weight and exercise more.

I am bothered by the attempt to hand so much of our own destiny over to the government for them to steer us in the right direction.

Last night as I was listening to the "Herman Cain Radio Show" a caller chimed in with what I thought was a brilliant and appropriate way to look at this point and many things. The comment went something like this: "In the 21st century ILLITERACY should be shifted to a measure of one's ability to recognize the current state of affairs around you and ADAPT APPROPRIATELY". For me - this is what I do. I stay current on the news and about issues related to my field of interest, and beyond in most cases.

For example - yesterday there was a big debate about the use of corn as a fuel source rather than food. While I am not the biggest proponent of ethanol I find that argument that corn used as fuel robs people of food to be ridiculous. The people arguing this point are only viewing the corn production within the limits of today's production capacity. Indeed the recent run up in prices means that there is a lack of supply rather than "mis-distribution" going on. Worse yet - it is beyond me to understand why the loudest voices about the negative impact of globalization don't suggest that those in the cities that no longer have a job waiting for them to return to the rural areas and work to ADDRESS THE SHORTAGE OF CORN while the PRICES ARE HIGH ENOUGH TO MAKE A PROFIT FROM!!! Think about it - previously farming was a losing proposition. Now with the commodity prices high - you can afford to pay your employees the elusive good wage that they had complained about before.

Sadly some people look to others to construct the MASSIVE, SYSTEMATIC changes in the economy and society that history has shown is best left to innovators to do in an incremental fashion. I actually fear when frustrated Americans at their wits end perform a "witless" action by turning their personal liberties over to the government to CONSTRUCT a new direction for them. Inevitably this leads to loss of economic freedom and a misallocation of resources beyond which the market can fix in the short term.

For many disgruntled people - the real question should be "What specifically did you do on a consistent basis to insure that where you stand right now is where you intended to be?"

For me - I could stand to lose 20 pounds. I will begin to do today what will eventually bring me to this point. The art of REVERSE ENGINEERING one's way to an ultimate destiny should be mastered by more people.

Mr. Obama - Meet Your Ideological Soulmate - Mr. Ahmadinejad

Mr. Obama - does it cause you to reevaluate your statements and your positions when YOU SOUND eerily similar to the President of Iran in your criticisms of the US Military involvement in Iraq?

Baghdad —- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on a historic trip to Baghdad on Sunday, said America has fueled the violence in Iraq.

"Six years ago, there were no terrorists in our region. As soon as the others landed in this country and the region, we witnessed their arrival and presence."

Doesn't this echo the statements made by US Presidential candidate Barack Obama last week?

Maybe upon his election Mr. Obama will do his world tour meetings with America's enemies and actually APOLOGIZE to Mr. Ahmadinejad for the invasion that has "disrepected" the people of the region so much?

Iran's ruler, in Iraq, slams U.S.

Obama / McCain Exchange Over Iraq

Asked if he would reserve the right as president to send U.S. troops back into Iraq to quell an insurrection or civil war, Obama replied: "As commander in chief, I will always reserve the right to make sure that we are looking out for American interests. And if Al Qaeda is forming a base in Iraq, then we will have to act in a way that secures the American homeland and our interests abroad."

Reacting Wednesday morning in Tyler, Texas, McCain taunted: "I have some news: Al Qaeda is in Iraq. . . . It's called 'Al Qaeda in Iraq.' " Some in the town-hall audience laughed.

"If we left . . . they wouldn't be establishing a base," the Arizona Republican said. "They'd be taking a country, and I'm not going to allow that to happen, my friends."

Obama responded at a rally in the sports arena at Ohio State University in Columbus. "I have some news for John McCain," the Illinois Democrat said, leaning into the crowd for emphasis. "There was no such thing as 'Al Qaeda in Iraq' until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq."

Sweden: Man put abortion pills in lover's yogurt

MSNBC - Swedish woman aborted pregnancy over tainted food fears

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - A Swedish court of appeal on Tuesday sentenced a 27-year-old man to 18 months in prison for trying to make his girlfriend miscarry by mixing abortion pills in her food.

The man, who was not named for legal reasons, had his jail term increased from a previous one-year sentence set by a district court in June.

In its ruling, the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden found the man guilty of aggravated assault for attempting to make his girlfriend of eight years miscarry by giving her a yogurt containing three ground-up pills. The sentence also included a more minor count of assault.

This news story won't get much press here in the United States with the number of left-wing politicians who seek to adopt European standards in health care and reproduction for the United States.

The long running debate of the "Abortion Pill" never mentioned the threat of having someone to maliciously attack a woman by contaminating her food with a crushed up "abortion pill".

If it is a woman's right to abort her child if she wants then what of the woman who seeks to carry her baby to term only to have a third party kill her child with this substance?

The more technology we adopt to "do our dirty work" the more complex the antics that some people will express to show that man indeed can only go as low as his technological enablers allow him to go.

Barack "Nevil Chamberlin" Obama will soon see that when it comes to world wide conflict BUSH is not his enemy.

The other day when John McCain commented that Al Queda is INDEED IN IRAQ, Nevil Jr. said "Al Queda was NOT in Iraq prior to Bush's policies'.

As long as people don't cross reference OBAMA'S THEORIES with REALITY he just might get over.

Let's run back Obama's THEORIES.
He was FOR the Afghan war because "they are the ones that attacked us on 9/11". (I won't bother to parse the details at length but the fact is that Al Queda used the friendly relations with the Taliban to operate within that country but in technical terms it was not the NATION of Afghanistan that attacked us.)

Mr. Obama goes further to state that the United States should have crossed the border and invaded Pakistan as a means of capturing or killing Obama Bin Laden. ONE MAN I'll remind you.

So let me understand Nevil Jr's INTELLECTUAL War Making. Had more formerly independent Afghans and Pakistanis joined the fight AGAINST the US Invasion they would be justifiably killed because they are Al Queda. And thus since we ARE FIGHTING AL QUEDA this is in line with the "Defensive War" that Nevil Jr. is inclined to agree with.

It seems clear that Nevil Jr. is "Mr Nuance #2", following the last Democratic candidate who felt obliged to be the OPPOSITION which resulted in a perverted strategy that few but the most loyal agreed was sane.

I must ask Nevil Jr and his loyal followers a key question:

1) Are we FIGHTING AL QUEDA, the people who attacked us

2) Are we fighting Al Queda, the people who attacked us ONLY ON LANDS THAT YOU AGREE WITH?

Let us turn the war planning from the perspective of American partisan politics over to HOW THE ENEMY THINKS. (For the sake of Care Bear - in this case pretend that 'the enemy' is the Muslim Extremists, not the United States government).

Al Zhawari, the #2 man in Al Queda stated that he will fight the enemy "IN IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN OR SOMOLIA". In summary, DUDE is not so hung up on FAKE GEOGRAPHIC constraints that Nevil Jr. is.

Assuming that Nevil Jr's theories were correct and we did kill Bin Laden, Al Zhawari would be IN POWER OVER AL QUEDA NOW and a President Chamberlin-Obama would be dealing with the fight on THEIR TERMS, not HIS theories. He would be fighting Al Zhawari's strategy and in the countries that HE leads us to.

Thus the argument "Al Queda was not in Iraq prior to George Bush's invasion" strikes as the "egg sucking liberal" THEORY and INTELLECTUALIZING that is heard by Anti-war protesters on 14th and Peachtree Streets on Fridays instead of by a man who is poised to lead the most powerful military in the world.

Mr. Obama - could you please tell me - Do you REALLY support the fight against the "people who attacked us on 9/11" or is your goal to reference WHATEVER REAL WORLD ACTIONS were taken in that regard and being the OPPOSITION?

If and when YOU get into office do you believe that the Muslim Extremists are going to be pleased that the "Infidels" have a new leader and they will now follow your script?
Only in Hollywood.
