UAW & Their Failed Atttepts To Unionize "Red State" Auto Plants

So the story goes - the UNION is responsible for providing high wages and good working conditions, not the actual company who employs the people. We see who provides the benefits when the evil corporations moves away and the union is left behind with their "living wage" mandates.

Now the unions have switched to a different tactic it seems. They are depending on laid off union workers from the idle rust belt states to infiltrate these new Southern state auto plants and flip the staff toward unionization in due time.

Does anyone notice that these foreign auto manufacturers when given a choice of where to setup their plants chose these Southern, "Right To Work" states? Despite the claim - these non-unionized work forces are making good money and they have a good working environment. All the while the legacy "Big 3" auto makers are preparing for massive job cuts and possible salary and benefit reductions. Why on Earth would someone seek to move south and RECREATE the conditions that lead to failure?

Bill Moyers - Propagandist & Operative #1

I have to admit that I love watching the Left Wing media. (I just picked up the latest version of International Socialist Review magazine yesterday in order to read up on what their hero Hugo Chavez was doing).

I tape the Bill Moyers Journal every week just to hear what he has to say. Since I am in the telecommunications business it is always interesting in listening to his latest rant. This week he is claiming that media consolidation is harming American's ability to get the news.

I am forced to map this claim against what I saw last weekend. With a house guest from Jamaica we were able to listen to direct radio broadcasts FROM JAMAICA live in our kitchen firmly planted (and dry) in the United States.

While we are being treated to a whirlwind of new media and means of forming social networks - Mr. Moyers and his left wing conspiracy theorists are fearing that "old media" is dying because of its consolidation, mostly due to their inability to make a profit due to the great loss in consumers who are going elsewhere. How is it that in a time of innovation Mr. Moyers and others are claiming that we are in fact LOSING?

I bet that if we were on the verge of the development of the automobile industry Mr. Moyers would be fretting the loss of the horse carraige manufacturing companies.

After watching his very slanted documentary about "Losing our Internet" I realize that there is no hope for Mr. Moyers. I am glad that even leftwing politicians have thus far rejected his claim that "Net Neutrality" is needed. What Mr. Moyers and other anti-capitalists don't realize is that the access networks that they are exposed to at the local level "does not the Internet make". They seem to be oblivious to the million dollar switches that aggregate traffic and send it across the nation at OC-768 speeds. In their hatred of corporations they are inclined to hurt investment in the next generation Internet architecture that SURELY won't be paid by those getting FREE Internet access nor from Google who makes its money from advertisers.

What kills me the most is the opening of Mr. Moyers show. After listing the contributions from the various "foundations" that were funded by rich industrialists that USED TO sit attop CORPORATIONS when gets to "The Mutal Of Omaha" he makes the point that is it their "our sole corporate sponsor". I must also note that he had Bill Gates on for a civil interview. It seems that after years of CORPORATE actions to create wealth Mr. Gates is now a "good guy" because he has largely retired and is handing out his billions for good causes. If Moyers had his way - Gates would never have been able to amass his fortune in the first place.

Credit To A Progressive That Goes After High Paid Educators

Enrich students, not college officials
http://www.ajc.com/opinion/content/opinion/stories/2007/08/23/abroaded_0824.html

I am forced to give praise to Maureen Downey of the AJC. For years I have noted the double standard with regards to the steady increases of "invoices" submitted to consumers of prescription drugs and gasoline but the silence about tuition. The same Progressive that attacks the evil corporation and who demands that the government cut funding to pharmaceutical firms also demands that the government INCREASE money sent to schools.

Hugo Chavez Makes Power Moves, His American Cheerleaders Are Silent

Imagine if the imperial George W. Bush made a move to dismantle the 2 term limit for the American presidency, made it easier for the federal government to confiscate private land and closed down an opposition broadcast channel - let's say Pacifica Network in America. No doubt you would see the American Left up in arms, decrying evil Bush as a dictator. They would take the streets to oppose this man's actions.

For some strange reason when it comes to Hugo Chavez various American leftist have a rather endearing view of this man. From Sean Penn to Danny Glover they can't seem to contain themselves over the consolidation of power that this man has done in the name of "the little people".

It is clear that the left looks at "the intentions" more than "the tactics" that are used to get toward a glorious end.

A close friend of mine told me how much he is enamored by both Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. Both are standing up against the American imperialist. He told me that he thought of himself as a "communist" in that only communism is able provide for the little people. As an American I had to remind him that he is an American. I had to remind him that he lives in a half million dollar house and that he and his wife has a combined income that places them in the top 5% of Americans......"what other than mere words makes you a communism?"

Chávez proposes additional powers

Soaring oil revenues have allowed Mr Chávez to finance generous social spending that has won him strong support among the poor. Mr Chávez was voted in for a second term in December last year by some 60 per cent of the electorate

ExxonMobil gets attacked in America for raking in record profits that benefit their shareholders, pension funds and employees. Hugo Chavez gets cheered for using its proceeds from the same run up in oil to care for his citizens. Go figure.

If Bush Did Not Invade Iraq These Suicide Bombers Would Not Be Forced To KILL THEIR OWN PEOPLE!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20121786/site/newsweek/

So goes the logic of those who are painted into the logical corner with their stance on the war in Iraq. I have long said that one essential element of the analysis of some is the assumed INFERIORITY and SAVAGRY of the Iraqis as the precontext of their attempts to manage the war via a war against George Bush. For one debate opponent no action done by the Iraqis after the fact can be placed upon their shoulders EVEN AFTER THE AMERICANS DEPART. Bush's invasion set off these series of events and we thus must look at the source. Of course this il-logic also inherently means that the rule of Saddam was acceptable and all that he did was just since it had the country kept in check even if terror was the primary means of accomplishing this.

Michael Moore Battles Wolf Blitzer

I listened to the re-broadcast of Michael Moore debating Wolf Blitzer on a number of topics - particularly health care and the Iraq War. It seems that Dr. Sanjay Gupta is now an "enemy of the state" in in Moore's world and after one film Moore is now a greater expert in the medical field than is Dr. Gupta.

Now get this Moore says that Gupta's credibility is shattered because he was an imbeded reporter with the AMERICAN TROOPS IN IRAQ!!!!! I can only guess that Moore would shower praise upon him if he were to hang out with the insurgents that we are fighting there. Blitzer set Moore straight, telling him that Gupta actually went to the Army field medical camps and reported from a MEDICAL PERSPECTIVE on how these doctors were using medical techniques to save people's lives....US Soldiers, Iraqi combatants and innocents.

It seems that Moore's magical exlier is to have THE GOVERNMENT to take over the health care system and this move alone is going to be the fix for all that plagues us. Why doesn't he note that where as today the evil health insurance firm who is denying coverage is simply going to be replaced by a government bureacrate who's effective actions will be the same as EVENTUAL BUDGET CUTS/CONTAINMENT will have rationing or make certain procedures unavailable due to constraints.

Till then some people will look forward to the day in which the government provides a fee nanny for all new mothers to assist them in their recovery. Just like in France. I take it that the African immigrants who a few years ago had nightly protests against the government weren't pacified by their healthcare coverage.

It is hard to believe that someone actually support Dennis Kucinch - that'd be Michael Moore.

Pakistan Critical of Barack Obama's "Troop Deployment" Statements - They Must Be Racists

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291982,00.html

Pakistan Criticizes Obama on Comments
Pakistan criticized U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday for saying that, if elected, he might order unilateral military strikes against terrorists hiding in this Islamic country.

Top Pakistan officials said Obama's comment was irresponsible and likely made for political gain in the race for the Democratic nomination.

"It's a very irresponsible statement, that's all I can say," Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khusheed Kasuri told AP Television News. "As the election campaign in America is heating up we would not like American candidates to fight their elections and contest elections at our expense."

How dare they attack our shining prince?
Don't they know that Obama believed that the "war in Iraq was a MISTAKE in the first place" is his major policy stance on the war? Obama represents HOPE!!! How could the Pakistanis be so crude as to not get on board the Obama bus?

They don't realize that Obama would "sit down with" the Islamic radicals that the government is fighting. This sit down talk, once he gets the American presidency is going to bring world peace.

Clearly the Pakistanis don't appreciate good things.
